The panels were custom made from a Pindler & Pindler  chenille on a silken matelasse background fabric. The ferns are done in the chenille and the background is  matellase executed in a small clamshell  so delicately that the first time I listed this, I missed it was matelasse. It is just done so lightly as to make the fabric shimmer like light on water and doesn't have a quilted appearance at all. This is one of the most gorgeous textiles we have got our hands on.  The ferns worked in chenille are elegant on this extraordinary backgound that is like a heavy silk. The panels weigh about 6 lbs each but they never loose their fairy-like grace. Fit for a palace, there is only the 4 panels.   If you are doing an Arts & Crafts decor, you already know that you will pay a high dollar for any authentic textile for that period.
