A black lacquer finish and seven layers of paint have been applied to the chair in order to achieve a deep black effect. The oval seat backing features a beautiful original painting by artist F. Tondato of a Neoclassical scene. Bronze leaf details, Greek key border, acanthus leaves, rosettes and rings have been applied to the chair by hand. Hand-woven slightly antiqued cane work on seat and seat backing. Lightweight wood construction. Four months were required to build this one-of-a-kind quality lightweight wood creation. Such time was needed to complete the intricacy of the chair’s details and its artistic finishing. This unique visual statement will enhance any decor setting and is a collector’s must-have.
