It consists of a strong plastic liner and is supported by Metal piping. I love this pool, it was easy to set up etc. I took it down for the winter, then this year decided to level out the area more before putting back up. When I set it up there were a couple pin holes(leaking) that I patched from the inside with a self adhesive bicycle patch kit and it worked. I think it came with a patch kit, but I misplaced it. Anyway I am testimony to multiple season use.
